Amanda McGowan

Running for Subdivision 3 School Board Trustee

About Me

Born and raised on a farm outside of St. Walburg, my husband and I moved to Paradise Hill 14 years ago. I am Mom to 2 children, grades 4 & 6. I am a small business owner with my husband and an avid community volunteer.

I keep myself busy running my kids to activities, sitting on many boards within the community and taking care of daily operations at our business.

In my spare time, I love to read a good thriller book. During the summer months, you can usually find me at the lake.

My Vision

I see education as a mold. It is defining our future and mentoring our children so they can grow to do great things. There is more to this than there ever has been before and I am willing to help make these learning experiences the best they can be.

When our kids are learning and growing in a healthy, positive environment, they are known to thrive. I’d like to see an education system that is there for all children to succeed, grow healthy, and sustain a positive environment.

Together, I know that we can build something so strong that our children will look back and say thank you! I have no doubt that I can make a difference and look forward to new beginnings.

Candidate Statement

As a school board candidate, I am committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive educational environment for all students. I am dedicated to enhancing academic opportunities and ensuring equitable resources for everyone while prioritizing students’ success. I believe in transparency, collaboration and accountability within the school system. If elected, I will listen to the concerns of parents, students and educators to help make informed decisions that benefit the entire community. I aim to ensure that we provide all children with the best education experience, physically, emotionally and academically. I am a business owner, a wife, a mother and a community volunteer. Operating our business has taught me that change only comes from those who put in the work. I am willing to put in the work for our children’s future. With the community’s support, I strive to bring positive changes and innovation to our schools. Thank you for considering me as your advocate for quality education.
